# Former Vorskla CEO Oleg Lysak demands 573,000 hryvnias: court leaves lawsuit in abeyance

Oleg Lysak, the former vice-president and general director of the Poltava club Vorskla, has initiated legal proceedings against the club. The former executive intends to recover unpaid wages, compensation for unused vacation days, and average earnings for the period of delayed settlement upon dismissal.

### Financial claims and attempt to seize assets

According to data published by RBC-Ukraine citing the publication "Poltavshchyna Sport", the total amount of the former top manager's claims against the club amounts to 573,117.30 hryvnias. During the hearing, the plaintiff's representative, Tatyana Kozyr, filed a motion for provisional measures. She requested the court to place an arrest on an apartment listed on Vorskla's balance sheet to guarantee the enforcement of a future ruling.

However, the presiding judge of the Kyiv District Court of Poltava, Oksana Samsonova, refused to grant this request. In the ruling dated June 4, it was stated that the plaintiff's side failed to prove exactly how the arrest of real estate would ensure the enforcement of the court act.

### Procedural errors and the fate of the lawsuit

The consideration of the main claim for the recovery of half a million hryvnias also did not take place. The court left the application in abeyance for a formal reason: Oleg Lysak did not pay the court fee, which amounts to 5,731.17 hryvnias. The court gave the former general director a week to remedy this defect and pay the receipt. If the payment is not made within the deadline, the statement of claim will be considered not filed and returned to the applicant.

### Crisis in the Poltava club

The legal battle is taking place against the backdrop of a deep crisis at Vorskla. Oleg Lysak, club president Roman Chernyak, and several other employees were dismissed on March 31, 2026, following a total change in management. The new general director became Maxim Garus, appointed by the insolvency administrator, as the company owning the club (LLC "Neominerals") is undergoing bankruptcy proceedings.

At the moment, the flagship of Poltava football is experiencing the most difficult times in its history. At the end of the 2025/26 season, the team took 14th place in the First League and officially did not receive a license to participate in professional competitions for the 2026/27 season. The club also has seven transfer bans, and the total debt to creditors and footballers reaches about $3.5 million.
