# Fresh dates on shot-down 'Shaheds': how production analysis reveals Russia's real stockpiles

Detailed analysis of serial numbers and production dates on shot-down Russian drones allows for conclusions about the current state of Russia's military stockpiles. According to Serhiy "Flash" Beskrystnov, advisor to the Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Moscow is practically not forming strategic reserves, sending products directly from the assembly line to the front.

### "Fresh" drones in the sky over Kharkiv

A key fact for analysis was the crash of a "Shahed" drone in Kharkiv on June 4. Markings found on board indicated that it was manufactured just a few days before the attack. This observation confirms the thesis that Russian industry is operating in "flow" mode, leaving significant volumes of equipment in warehouses.

The only notable exception to this scheme remains the "Iskander" ballistic missiles, the stockpiles of which, according to experts, remain relatively substantial.

### Production statistics and dependence on imports

Data on recent production dates correlates with information about a massive increase in capacity. According to Bloomberg, in April of this year, drone production volumes in Russia increased by 117% compared to the same period in 2025. Moscow authorities plan to release colossal volumes of products this year:

    - 7.3 million FPV drones;

    - 7.8 million warheads.

Production of strike drones of the "Shahed" type has also increased significantly. However, experts note that a significant part of these systems depends on Chinese components, which creates certain vulnerabilities in the supply chain.

### Countermeasures by Ukrainian forces

Despite the increase in the enemy's production rates, Ukrainian military forces continue active countermeasures. Recently, the Armed Forces of Ukraine took Donetsk Airport under fire control. This location was used by the enemy as a key hub for launching "Shahed" drones, and its blockade deals a blow to the logistics of attacks.
