# From 15,000 to 200,000: A huge price range for economic education revealed in Ukraine

The cost of obtaining an economic education in Ukrainian universities demonstrates a colossal spread. Prospective students face a situation where the price for one year of study can differ by tens of times: from less than 15,000 hryvnias to a sum exceeding 200,000 hryvnias.

An analysis of data from the Unified State Electronic Database on education for the 2026/2027 academic year revealed a clear division of the market. Leading capital universities offer programs costing from 100,000 to 200,000 hryvnias per year. At the same time, a number of regional and private institutions are ready to take a contract student for a sum not exceeding 30,000 hryvnias.

### The influence of the specialty on the price

The price of a university ticket depends directly on the field of training. The most expensive programs are concentrated around modern and in-demand skills: international economics, business analytics, and data analysis. Conversely, classical economic education in certain educational institutions can be obtained at a minimum rate — for less than 15,000 hryvnias per year.

### Price increase in leading universities

The trend of increasing tuition fees is confirmed by specific examples from top universities. V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University increased the cost of a contract by almost 40% this year. Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv did not stay on the sidelines either, where prices rose by 27%. For some programs at KNU, the cost of the course reached 119,000 hryvnias.

Thus, future economists will have to not only choose a specialty but also carefully compare the financial conditions of admission in different corners of the country.
