Satellite imagery from Google Maps has been updated, providing the world with a detailed overview of the situation surrounding the Crimean Bridge. The new high-resolution images clearly show massive defensive structures deployed by the Russian side to protect this strategic asset. RBC-Ukraine reports that these measures have been taken in response to increasing threats and sabotage attempts.

### Barriers Against Sabotage

Visual analysis of the updated maps allows for a closer look at the defense system created by Russian military forces around the crossing of the Kerch Strait. A key element of the defense has become the barges deployed along the approaches to the bridge. They form a physical barrier, hindering access to the bridge's supports.

In addition to the barges, anti-sabotage and boom barriers are visible in the water on the images. Some of these structures are located directly next to the shipping channel passing under the bridge's arch span. Such deployment indicates an effort to protect the object from water-based attacks, including the use of unmanned surface vehicles.

### Response to Escalation

Active reinforcement of the defense began after a series of attacks on the Crimean Bridge. The status of the object as a key logistical route for supplying Russian troops on the peninsula makes its protection one of Moscow's top priorities. New satellite data confirms that defensive measures continue to be ramped up.

The situation around the bridge remains tense. On the night of June 21, a series of explosions occurred in the Crimea region, forcing Russian authorities to temporarily close the crossing to traffic. Local residents reported a fire and thick smoke in the area of the Kerch Sea Port.

Later, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed that Ukrainian forces struck targets on both sides of the Kerch Bridge. According to him, the objects were located approximately 300 km from the front line. Amidst the continuing escalation, the visualization of defensive measures on satellite maps becomes an important source of information about the actual situation in the region.
