# Gusts, Hail, and Landslide Risk: Civil Protection Warns of Dangerous Weather in Ukraine

In the coming days, Ukraine is forecast to experience a sharp deterioration in weather conditions. The State Emergency Service (SES) has issued an official warning for residents of several regions, urging them to remain vigilant due to thunderstorm activity and extreme weather phenomena.

### Transcarpathia Under Threat of Natural Disasters

Rescuers are paying particular attention to the Transcarpathian region. On June 30, powerful thunderstorms are expected in the area, which may be accompanied by hail and gusty winds reaching speeds of 15–20 m/s. Due to heavy precipitation in the mountainous terrain, there is a real threat of flooding and mudslides, requiring maximum caution from local residents.

### Yellow Alert Level in Western Ukraine

The situation is expected to persist the following day. On July 1, storm warnings will extend to the Volyn, Lviv, and Transcarpathian regions. Meteorologists predict a repetition of the scenario: thunderstorms, hail, and wind gusts of similar intensity. A yellow alert level has been officially declared for these territories, signaling the possibility of dangerous weather conditions.

### Fire Hazard and Temperature Contrasts

In addition to natural disasters, the risk of fires remains high in Ukraine. According to the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, an extreme fire danger level is in effect in most regions from July 1 to 3. Authorities strongly recommend that citizens strictly adhere to fire safety rules.

Forecasters also note a dramatic shift in the temperature background. While strong heat persists across the country on July 1, with temperatures reaching up to +38°C in some areas, a cold atmospheric front is expected to approach Ukraine by July 2. A noticeable drop in temperature is anticipated in most regions on July 3–4.

### "Heat Mode" for Trucks

High temperatures have already led to restrictive measures on the roads. For instance, on June 30, a special "heat mode" was introduced for heavy-duty transport in the Kyiv region. When air temperatures reached +28°C, the movement of trucks weighing more than 24 tons was temporarily banned. This measure aims to prevent the destruction of road surfaces caused by extreme asphalt heating.
