The developers confirmed that installing the crime action game on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles will require up to 212 GB of free space, and the digital pre-load start has been moved up by two days to Tuesday, November 10. With the official release date set for November 19, 2026, less than two weeks away, the company has answered the key questions that concerned players before downloading. ### Storage Requirements: Up to 212 GB Depending on the Console According to Rockstar Games, the amount of free space required for the successful installation of GTA VI is up to 212 GB — the exact figure depends on the specific console. This size is due to the scale of the project: Rockstar North co-head Rob Nelson previously noted that the game's map is twice as large as GTA V's and three times the size of Red Dead Redemption 2, while the level of detail is supported by approximately 600,000 diverse animations. Players planning to install on limited-capacity storage should free up space in advance to avoid running out of room on release day. ### Pre-Load Schedule: November 10 for PS5 and Xbox, November 12 for Physical Versions Digital pre-loading for PlayStation 5 owners will begin on Tuesday, November 10, at 12:00 AM local time in each time zone, while on Xbox Series X/S consoles, downloading will start globally on the same day. For buyers of code-in-box versions, retailers will open access starting November 12. Moving the digital pre-load date up by two days gives users nine days to fully install the game before its official release on November 19, helping to avoid queues and delays on day one. ### Free Leonida State Map and Poster on Release Day On release day, November 19, 2026, Rockstar Games will publish digital versions of the cover poster and a detailed map of the State of Leonida — the Florida-inspired region where the game takes place — for free on its official website. Users will be able to download these materials for printing at home. In addition, the Rockstar Store will offer a double-sided printed version of the poster, which can be purchased separately for 99 cents or obtained free as a gift with any other purchase. ### Context: Scale, Playtime, and No Microtransactions Previously revealed details complete the pre-release picture: according to Nelson, clearing the main story of GTA VI and its associated optional content took the developer about 80 hours, and the game will feature no microtransactions. Main characters — criminal lovers Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos — operate in the series' "biggest" world, with the romance between the characters being optional for completing the main story. These statements, made after a 26-minute extended gameplay demo captured on PlayStation 5, emphasize that Rockstar is betting on a substantial single-player experience without in-game purchase monetization. ## Fact-Check & Sources - [GTA 6 потребует до 212 ГБ памяти: Rockstar раскрыла детали загрузки](https://www.rbc.ua/ukr/news/gta-6-vimagatime-212-gb-pam-yati-rockstar-1793780979.html) - Primary source: 212 GB, pre-load on November 10 (PS5 12:00 AM local, Xbox global), code-in-box from November 12, release on November 19, free map and poster, printed poster for 99 cents. - [Необязательный роман, 80 часов на прохождение и никаких микротранзакций: Rockstar раскрыла новые ...](https://3dnews.ru/1147612/neobyazatelniy-roman-80-chasov-na-prohogdenie-i-nikakih-mikrotranzaktsiy-rockstar-raskrila-novie-podrobnosti-gta-vi) - Context: map twice the size of GTA V and three times RDR2, ~600k animations, ~80 hours of playtime, no microtransactions, optional romance. - [Rockstar раскрыла новые детали GTA 6](https://tengrinews.kz/curious/rockstar-raskryila-novyie-detali-gta-6-607235/) - Context: 26-minute demo on PS5, protagonists Jason and Lucia, open world of the State of Leonida. - [Rockstar раскрыла, будет ли в GTA VI прямая отсылка на Трампа и на движение MAGA](https://overclockers.ru/blog/Global_Chronicles/show/265550/Rockstar-raskryla-budet-li-v-GTA-VI-pryamaya-otsylka-na-Trampa-i-na-dvizhenie-MAGA) - Подтверждено по источнику overclockers.ru ## FAQ ### How much storage is required to install GTA VI?
