## Key Points

- The Game Awards organizers established the final qualification deadline for the 2026 ceremony as November 20, 2026.
- The GTA 6 release, scheduled for November 19, 2026, falls within the current year's nomination window.
- GTA 6 has already won the «Most Anticipated Game» award twice (2024, 2025), and Red Dead Redemption 2 previously captured 4 statuettes.

The organizers of The Game Awards have officially updated the FAQ section on their website, establishing the final project qualification date for the 2026 ceremony. According to the published data, the last day a game can be included in the nominee list is November 20, 2026. This clarification is of key importance to the industry, as it determines whether a particular release can compete for top honors at the upcoming show or will be forced to wait for the next cycle.

### Official Deadline Confirmation

Earlier, players and analysts expressed concerns that due to a late November release, Rockstar Games' major blockbuster — Grand Theft Auto 6 — might miss the current year's window and be postponed to the next participants list. However, with the updated schedule, these doubts have been put to rest: the GTA 6 release date, scheduled for November 19, 2026, fully falls within the award's qualification window. Thus, the project earns the right to compete for nominations at the upcoming ceremony rather than postponing its bid for statuettes for another year.

### GTA 6 in the Nomination Window

It is worth noting that even before its release, Grand Theft Auto 6 managed to secure its place in the awards' radar: it already holds two The Game Awards trophies in the "Most Anticipated Game" category for 2024 and 2025. This makes the game's upcoming participation in the main nomination pool a logical continuation of its journey and underscores the scale of expectations the industry holds for the sixth generation of the series.

### Historical Context and Ceremony Intrigue

The historical success of past Rockstar Games titles further raises the stakes of the upcoming ceremony. In particular, Red Dead Redemption 2 previously claimed four award statuettes, marking one of the studio's notable achievements within The Game Awards. Against this backdrop, GTA 6's potential participation in the "Game of the Year" and other key categories makes the 2026 ceremony one of the most intriguing in the history of the award.
