# Heat and thunderstorms: forecasters warn Ukrainians of sharp weather changes on Sunday

Sunday, July 26, will be a day of contrasts for residents of Ukraine: anomalous heat will be replaced by short-term rains and thunderstorm fronts. According to the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, air temperatures in some regions will rise to +29°C, although the weather will change sharply in some areas.

### Precipitation map: where to expect downpours

Forecasters predict variable cloud cover across the entire country. However, calm weather is not expected everywhere. In the eastern regions, as well as locally in the Pridneprovye and Crimea, short-term rains and thunderstorms are likely. The situation is most tense in the Luhansk region and the Donbas, where significant precipitation is forecast. Precipitation is not expected in the rest of Ukraine.

### Temperature regime and wind

At night, thermometers will show from +11°C to +16°C. During the day, the air temperature will be from +24°C to +29°C. The exception is the eastern regions, where it will be cooler due to precipitation: from +20°C to +25°C. The lowest temperatures are expected in the Carpathian Mountains: at night from +5°C to +10°C, and during the day from +17°C to +22°C.

The wind will blow predominantly from the northwest, and in the west of the country from the southwest. Gusts will reach 5–10 m/s.

### Forecast for Kyiv

Residents of the capital will be able to enjoy more stable weather. Variable cloud cover without precipitation is expected in Kyiv and the Kyiv region. At night, the temperature will be +14...+16°C, and during the day the air will warm up to +26...+28°C.

### Magnetic storms against the backdrop of heat

It should be noted that weather cataclysms are superimposed on geomagnetic activity. Earlier this week, forecasters warned of magnetic storms expected at the end of July. The combination of high temperatures, thunderstorm activity, and magnetic field disturbances may be a test for weather-sensitive people.
