# Heat and thunderstorms: forecasters say what weather awaits Ukraine on July 23

On July 23, Ukraine will fall under the influence of unstable atmospheric circulation. According to the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, rain and thunderstorms are expected in several regions of the country, while air temperatures in some areas will reach +29 degrees.

### Rainfall map: where to expect downpours

Forecasters predict variable cloud cover across the entire territory of the state. However, the distribution of precipitation will be uneven. The most complex situation is expected in the southern regions: significant rain and thunderstorms are forecast for the Odesa and Autonomous Republic of Crimea regions.

In the western part of the country, short-term rain and thunderstorms are also possible during the day. The rest of Ukraine will remain without precipitation, allowing people to enjoy sunny weather despite the high humidity.

### Temperature indicators

Despite the likelihood of precipitation, the heat will not subside. In the eastern regions of the country, the air will heat up to maximum values — up to +29°C. In other regions, the daytime temperature will range from +21 to +26°C. The exception will be the Carpathians, where the thermometer will show only +12...+17°C.

### Wind regime

The wind will blow predominantly from the north-west at a speed of 5–10 m/s. In the western regions, the wind direction will change to south-west, which may enhance the feeling of humidity during the pre-storm period.

### Situation in Kyiv

The capital and the Kyiv region will be in a more favorable zone. In Kyiv today, variable cloud cover is expected, but precipitation is not forecast. This will allow the residents of the capital to avoid the downpours that will affect the southern and western regions.

### Warnings about instability

Current weather conditions continue the trend observed this week. Earlier, forecasters had already warned about temperature swings and sharp weather changes. In addition, experts drew attention to the probability of magnetic storms at the end of July, which could affect the well-being of weather-sensitive people.
