# Heat gives way to downpours: forecasters warn of thunderstorms and strong winds in Ukraine on July 6

On July 6, Ukraine is expected to experience a sharp change in weather conditions. Forecasters predict a shift from hot weather to variable cloudiness with precipitation. According to the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, short-term rains and thunderstorms will occur in some areas during the day, especially in the northeast.

### Strong winds and temperature fluctuations

The wind will be predominantly westerly, with speeds of 7–12 m/s. However, in the northern part of the country, gusts up to 15–20 m/s are possible during the day, requiring residents to exercise increased caution. The temperature background will also change: during the day, the air will warm up to 20–25°C, while in the south and southeast of the country, thermometer readings will rise to 24–29°C.

### Weather in Kyiv and the region

The capital and the Kyiv region will not be spared from the weather changes. Variable cloudiness is expected in the region, with short-term rains in some places, and thunderstorms are possible across the region. This will continue the trend of decreasing temperatures, which meteorologists had previously reported.

### Context: the heat is leaving

Recall that in recent days, Ukraine has experienced anomalous heat. Now, forecasters call July 6 a day of radical change. Residents are advised to follow the forecasts, carry an umbrella, and be careful when moving in conditions of increased wind and possible downpours.
