# Heat up to +38°C to be replaced by squalls: forecasters warn of sudden cooling in Ukraine

Ukraine is experiencing abnormally hot weather on July 1, but forecasters are already warning of an imminent change in conditions. In the coming days, a cold atmospheric front will replace the scorching air, capable of triggering heavy downpours and thunderstorms.

### Forecast for July 1: heat and squalls

According to the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, Wednesday will be characterized by high temperatures and slight cloudiness. Precipitation is not expected in most regions, although the situation on the far west of the country could be dangerous. Localized short-term rain, thunderstorms, as well as hail and wind squalls with speeds of 15–20 m/s are possible.

The strongest heat is forecast for southwestern Ukraine, where thermometer readings may rise to +35…+38°C. The wind across the country is expected to be easterly or southeasterly, with speeds of 5–10 m/s.

In Kyiv and the Kyiv region, the weather will be calmer: slight cloudiness and no precipitation are expected. Nevertheless, a "heat mode" was previously introduced on the roads in the region, which imposes restrictions on the movement of certain types of vehicles.

### Approach of the cold front

Meteorologist and forecaster Natalka Dydenko reported that a cold atmospheric front will approach Ukraine as early as Thursday, July 2. This event will become a catalyst for a sharp change in weather during July 3–4 in most regions.

The specialist warned of risks associated with sudden temperature fluctuations:

"With such strong heat, as the atmospheric front approaches, heavy downpours, squalls, and thunderstorms are possible! Be careful"

Thus, Ukrainians should be prepared for difficult weather conditions: after several days of extreme heat, the country may be covered by heavy precipitation and gusty winds.
