According to the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center and forecasts by meteorologist Natalia Didenko, the heatwave that has been holding the country in its grip for the past few days will continue today. Significant weather changes in the form of thunderstorms and squalls are expected in only one region. ### Temperature Regime and Precipitation The forecast for July 1 is practically no different from yesterday's. In most regions, the air temperature will range from +30 to +35 degrees. Precipitation is not expected across the country, with the exception of Zakarpattia. It is there that meteorologists forecast local thunderstorms, as well as possible hail and gusty wind strengthening to 15–20 m/s. The Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center clarified that the sky will be predominantly clear with slight cloudiness. At night, the air will cool down to +18...+23 degrees, while during the day it will warm up again to +29...+34 degrees. However, in the southwest of the country, meteorologists warn of a possible intensification of the heat to +35...+38 degrees. ### Weather in Kyiv A sunny and hot day is expected in the capital. The air will warm up to +33 degrees, and no precipitation is forecast for Kyiv. City residents are advised to take precautionary measures in conditions of high temperature. ### Weather Change and Warnings Meteorologist Natalia Didenko reported that a cold atmospheric front will approach Ukraine as early as July 2. This will lead to a gradual retreat of the heat: first in the western regions, and by July 3–4, the cooling will cover most of the country's regions. However, the meteorologist warned of risks during the period of changing weather conditions: "With such strong heat, as the atmospheric front approaches, heavy downpours, squalls, and thunderstorms are possible! Be careful". ### Context of the Anomaly The end of June in Ukraine was marked by record heat, when temperature maximums were updated in various regions. Against the backdrop of anomalous indicators, meteorologists also explained the difference between official data and what people feel "outside the window," as well as revealed details of the methodology for compiling weather forecasts.
