Large-scale emergency rescue operations in Kyiv have concluded, lasting throughout Saturday, August 1. The city was shaken by a powerful attack that occurred in the night of August 1: Russian forces struck twice using ballistic missiles. According to the latest data, the death toll from the tragedy has risen to nine.

The situation remains critical: rescuers managed to pull 105 people from under the rubble, but 33 people sustained injuries of varying severity. Among the victims are four children.

### Scale of Destruction and Rescue Operations

The strikes hit five districts of the capital: Solomianskyi, Darnytskyi, Shevchenkivskyi, Dniprovskyi, and Pecherskyi. In some residential buildings, people were trapped by debris, requiring immediate intervention by emergency services.

To eliminate the consequences, 206 rescuers and 42 units of equipment were deployed. Emergency responders worked continuously, clearing rubble, extinguishing fires, and assisting the injured. Footage from police body cameras captured moments of missile impacts near residential buildings, demonstrating the destructive power of the strike.

### Casualties Among Law Enforcement

Among the dead was 22-year-old patrol police officer Yegor Terekhin. He died following a second strike launched by the Russian side. His death became another tragic chapter in the history of Kyiv's defense.

The city continues to recover from the attack, but the consequences of the shelling will be felt for a long time. Rescuers have completed the main operations, however, the process of restoring infrastructure and assisting the injured continues.
