# Strike on sports complex: Ignat refutes VVS range version and demands investigation

Yuriy Ignat, spokesperson for the Air Force of Ukraine, officially refuted information that the target of the Russian ballistic strike in the Kyiv region was a military range of the Armed Forces. According to him, a private sports complex, unrelated to military facilities, was hit.

### "This is not a range"

In his statement, Ignat emphasized that a civilian object is located at the scene. "This is not a range, it is a sports complex, it is private and has no connection to the military," the Air Force representative stated. He added that law enforcement agencies must now assess the actions of the organizers of the event that was taking place at the sports complex at the time of the attack.

### Scale of destruction in Bucha district

Ruslan Oleinyk, acting head of the Kyiv Regional State Administration, reported that work to eliminate the consequences of the strike is continuing. All operational services are working at the site. According to his data, 27 private houses and 44 vehicles were damaged as a result of the shelling in the Bucha district.

Oleinyk also noted that all victims are receiving necessary medical assistance. Information on the exact number of killed and wounded is being clarified, however, according to preliminary data, 10 people became victims of the attack, and another hundred or so sustained injuries of varying severity.

### Criminal proceedings

Ruslan Kравченко, Prosecutor General of Ukraine, announced the opening of two criminal proceedings. One concerns war crimes under Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The second proceeding was initiated under Part 3 of Article 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — for possible improper performance of official duties during the organization and conduct of the event, which could have led to death and other serious consequences.

Russian forces struck the Kyiv region with ballistic missiles during the day. The greatest destruction was recorded precisely in the Bucha district. The investigation into the circumstances of the attack and the reasons that led to such casualties among the civilian population is ongoing.
