# Iryna Kudashova on 'Kotlyarevskiy' Premiere, Engagement, and Stereotypes: 'There's No Camera Now, I'm Just a Person'

On November 2 at 7:00 PM, the New Channel premiered the comedy series 'Kotlyarevskiy'—a story about the team of the restaurant of the same name, where Ukrainian culinary traditions are given a modern twist. The plot centers on daily work, romances, arguments, and curious situations; against a gastronomic backdrop, the characters reinterpret national customs much like Ivan Kotlyarevsky once did in literature. The series stars Daria Petrozhytska, Iryna Kudashova, Kostiantyn Oktiabrsky, and other actors. Kudashova, already known to viewers for the film 'Taste of Freedom', found herself in the 'screen kitchen' once again, but this time in a comedy vein: her character, Kvitoslava, is an impulsive, emotional, and not always restrained member of the restaurant team.

### 'Specialization: Kitchen': How the Series Set New Tasks

In a blitz interview with Styler, Kudashova admitted that after 'Taste of Freedom', she was sure she had already passed cooking school. However, 'Kotlyarevskiy' added new tasks, and now the actress jokes that she could list 'specialization: kitchen' on her acting resume. 'On set, I'm actually a very confident cook. The main thing is that at home, someone else would also say 'Cut!' and bring a finished dish,' she laughs. Moreover, according to her, she can now 'sort vegetables with her eyes closed'—and starting November 2, viewers will understand why.

### Engagement and 'We Are Already Creating Our Own Family'

A separate part of the interview is dedicated to her private life: Kudashova talked about what changed in her relationship with Borys after the engagement. 'Now, during an argument, I can say very confidently, 'You were the one who proposed!',' the actress jokes, but immediately switches to a serious note: the engagement didn't change the couple overnight, but added the feeling that they are already building a family. 'And that makes us very happy,' she emphasizes. At the same time, according to Kudashova, they haven't reached the discussion of wedding details yet: 'I just finished filming 'Kotlyarevskiy', and after the proposal, we haven't even had a chance to spend time together properly.' Borys, she says, already stated: 'The main thing is that you're happy, and I'll like everything.' As for wedding traditions, Kudashova doesn't rule out that instead of the classic bouquet toss, she might come up with something of her own: 'I want our wedding to have its own special moments. Perhaps that's how we'll start a tradition of our own.'

### 'I Believe You' — The Most Valuable Words from a Director

Speaking about her profession, Kudashova highlighted a phrase more valuable to her than any compliment on her appearance: 'I believe you.' 'When a director sees that I'm not just playing a role but living it, that my character is interesting to watch and people empathize with her—that is the recognition of my work,' the actress explains. Compliments on appearance, she says, are pleasant but don't replace the feeling that her acting work is what's being noticed.

### The Stereotype That Irritates: 'Actresses Are Always Acting'

Kudashova identified the most irritating stereotype as the belief that actresses 'are constantly acting in life'—as if their tears, joy, or any feeling must be a 'role'. 'Sometimes I want to say: 'There's no camera now, I'm just a person!',' she admits. On set, she says, one can act out an emotion one doesn't currently feel, but in life, one can be flustered, unable to find the right words, or cry 'at the most inconvenient time'. 'The profession doesn't make me invulnerable and doesn't mean there is a script behind every one of my emotions,' the actress summarizes.

### Kvitoslava and Kudashova: Where the Similarities Are and Where It's 'Enough!'

Comparing herself to her character, Kudashova notes similarities: both can argue and act impulsively. But Kvitoslava 'sometimes goes so far that even I think: 'Kvitoslava, that's enough!'.' Where the actress has already exhaled and tried to calm down, her character 'is just getting started'. 'But playing this is very interesting! You can allow yourself a little more than in real life,' adds Kudashova. At the same time, she consciously limits her private life on social media outside the set: 'Even if it seems from stories that you know how my whole day went, much more remains behind the scenes. I like to share, but I also want to simply live happy moments with loved ones without thinking whether I should pick up my phone now.'

The premiere of 'Kotlyarevskiy' aired on November 2 at 7:00 PM on the New Channel. The series continues the line started by 'Taste of Freedom'—Kudashova's return to 'kitchen' roles, but in a comedic key, where gastronomy becomes not just a background but a language in which the characters speak about traditions, love, and themselves.
