# Italian Defense Minister: Stopping Aid to Ukraine is a Death Sentence for the State

A sharp debate has erupted in Rome regarding the future of military support for Kyiv. Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto, speaking before parliamentarians, firmly countered arguments suggesting that weapon deliveries only prolong the conflict. According to the Italian politician, refusing aid will not bring peace but will lead to the disappearance of the Ukrainian state.

### A Medical Analogy in Geopolitics

During a joint meeting of the foreign affairs and defense committees of both parliamentary chambers, Crosetto used a vivid metaphor, comparing the situation to treating a critically ill person. He emphasized the absurdity of the logic suggesting that medical aid prolongs a patient's suffering.

"Many say that helping Ukraine means prolonging the conflict. I have never heard in a hospital that a blood transfusion or treatment means prolonging the illness," the minister stated.

Crosetto presented a grim but logical argument: if you stop treating a patient, they will die, and the problem of the "empty bed" will resolve itself. However, in the context of international security, such an approach is unacceptable. "If we do not continue to help Ukraine, it will disappear, and the problem will be gone," summarized the head of the Ministry of Defense.

### Course on Continuing Support

The statement came against the backdrop of active debates in Western countries regarding the expediency of further investment in Ukraine's defense. Rome, however, has no intention of changing its strategy. Italy has already provided military aid to Kyiv within the framework of 13 support packages and plans to continue participating in international initiatives to strengthen Ukraine's defense.

In Crosetto's opinion, stopping deliveries cannot be viewed as a tool for settlement. On the contrary, only continuous support allows the country to resist armed aggression and preserve its sovereignty.

### Personnel Changes and New Connections

Aside from political debates, personnel issues linking the two countries are also being discussed in Rome. It was previously reported that former Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov received an offer to take the post of advisor to the Italian Minister of Defense. The initiative came from Rome immediately after Fedorov finished his work in the Ukrainian government, indicating Italy's desire to integrate Ukrainian experience into its defense strategy.
