The politician published a photo on social media platform X showing him dressed as Albus Dumbledore, the headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. He wore a long silver-gray robe, a wizard's hat, and a gray wig. Captioning the snapshot with "Happy Halloween from the second family!" Vance confirmed that his entire household participated in the festive activity. ### Family Transformation into a Magical World In the published photo, Vance is holding his youngest son, who was dressed as Dobby the house-elf. The toddler wore a knitted hat with large ears mimicking the character's appearance. The Vice President's wife, Usha Vance, posed nearby in black clothing and a witch's hat. The couple's other children also chose costumes from the Harry Potter universe: one appeared as Harry Potter himself, another as a spider, and a third tried on a blue-green dragon costume. Shortly before the holiday, Vance himself admitted that his children are fans of the Harry Potter books and movies. ### "Vice President Dumbledore" on Instagram In addition to the photo on X, the politician recorded a video on his personal Instagram account, introducing himself as "Vice President Dumbledore" and his young son as "little Dobby." "Vice President Dumbledore, along with little Dobby the elf, wishes you a Happy Halloween. Have fun, be safe, and eat lots of candy," he told his followers in the clip. ### Audience Reaction: From Congratulations to Irony User opinions in the comments were divided. Part of the audience reacted with humor and began congratulating the Vice President on the holiday, while others laughed at his choice of costume. At the same time, the politician's youngest son drew special attention: internet users called the toddler dressed as Dobby "incredibly cute." Thus, Vance's family Halloween caused a wide response on social networks, although it was not without a dose of irony directed at the Vice President himself. ### Context: Last Year's Ironic Halloween It is worth noting that the previous year, Vance chose a fundamentally different approach to his festive look. Back then, he turned into a meme of himself—a viral joke that appeared online after his public spat with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in the White House. Not appreciating the behavior of the Vice President, who complained that Ukrainians were not grateful enough for aid, users began creating pictures with his exaggerated facial features and a curly wig. This year, by contrast, Vance opted for a family-friendly and "safe" look from a popular book universe. ## Fact-Check & Sources - [Дамблдор и маленький Добби: Джей Ди Вэнс показал семейный образ на Хэллоуин](https://wave.rbc.ua/ukr/stars/dambldor-i-malenkiy-dobbi-dzhey-di-vens-pokazav-1793554226.html) - Primary source: Vance's posts on X and video on Instagram, reported by WAVE (RBC-Ukraine).
