After a long hiatus, Johnny Depp returns to major Hollywood theatrical release. Paramount Pictures has unveiled the first trailer for the Christmas film 'Ebenezer', in which the actor appears in a role radically different from those familiar to the audience.

In the footage, Depp appears with heavy makeup, grey hair, and deep wrinkles. His gloomy gaze and stern appearance completely hide the features of the actor millions know from the role of Jack Sparrow. In the new film, he plays the lead role — the miser Ebenezer Scrooge in an adaptation of Charles Dickens' novella 'A Christmas Carol'.

### Plot and Atmosphere of the Film

The story tells of a wealthy but greedy and lonely man who hates Christmas and refuses to change. However, on the eve of the holiday, his life changes thanks to an encounter with three spirits who show him his past, present, and future. After this journey, Scrooge gets a chance to rethink his life and change his attitude towards those around him.

The creators of the film promise that the new version will be significantly darker and more atmospheric compared to classic adaptations of the fairy tale. The director of the project is Ti West, known for the horror films 'Pearl' and 'MaXXXine'. The cast also includes Daisy Ridley and Sam Claflin.

### Return of the Star and Upcoming Projects

Interest in the project began to grow even before the release of the trailer. On July 23, the official poster was presented, and earlier Johnny Depp appeared at San Diego Comic-Con in the full costume of his character. The actor became so immersed in the role that even at the meeting with fans, he was in no hurry to come out of character.

The premiere of 'Ebenezer' is scheduled for November 13. For Johnny Depp, this will be his first major work in Hollywood after a long break. The last time he appeared in a major film was in 'Waiting for the Barbarians' in 2019.

The actor's plans are not limited to one film. Already in 2027, audiences will be able to see him in the action thriller 'Friday' (Day Drinker), where he will once again join forces with Penélope Cruz.
