# Kharkiv: Mayor urges not to linger at gas stations due to targeted strikes

The situation around gas stations in Kharkiv has intensified. The city's mayor, Ihor Terekhov, warned residents that the enemy is deliberately choosing gas stations as targets for strikes. This is no longer an isolated incident but a systemic threat requiring heightened vigilance and adherence to safety rules from the city's inhabitants.

### Why gas stations have become targets

According to Terekhov, Russian forces are specifically attacking gas stations — likely to disrupt logistics, create panic, and destabilize life in the city. Such actions are not random: they are aimed at depriving the population of the ability to move and work normally.

### What residents and guests of Kharkiv should do

The mayor gave clear recommendations:

- Do not linger at gas stations without necessity.

- Plan visits only when there is no air raid alarm.

- Refuel the vehicle quickly and leave — do not create queues.

- Do not panic: there is no fuel shortage in the city.

### Safety under military control

City authorities are in constant contact with gas station networks and are discussing measures to enhance security. In particular, the possibility of installing anti-drone nets is being considered. However, the final decision is made by the military — they assess the risks, feasibility, and effectiveness of such solutions.

### Situation in other regions

The problem is not limited to Kharkiv. Residents of the Sumy region are also urged to refrain from visiting gas stations due to the increased risk of shelling. Strikes on gas stations have already been recorded in the Poltava region. The WOG network has introduced a special operating mode in certain regions of Ukraine.

### The main thing is to remain calm and act reasonably

The authorities are doing everything possible to minimize risks. But the safety of each person also depends on their own actions. Quickly, without unnecessary noise, without queues — this is the most effective approach right now.
