# Kinburn Spit: Instead of Retreating, Russia Rotates Elite Units

The situation on the Kinburn Spit remains tense: the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to strike the enemy's logistical routes, but it is premature to speak of a complete withdrawal of Russian troops from this strategic area. This was stated by Vladyslav Voloshyn, spokesperson for the Southern Operational Command, in a comment to RBK-Ukraine.

### Logistical Pressure and Fire Control

According to Ukrainian military data, ground communication with the spit is maintained by two main roads: one asphalt and one dirt. The latter becomes impassable during inclement weather, which significantly limits the enemy's maneuverability. Currently, Ukrainian units are striving to bring these arteries under full fire control, including those passing through the temporarily occupied part of the Kherson region.

The result of these actions has been the complication of military vehicle movement. Russian units are forced to hide from drone strikes and camouflage their positions, but this has not led to the evacuation of forces from the spit territory.

### Rotation Instead of Retreat

Instead of the expected retreat, active personnel rotation is taking place on the Kinburn Spit. According to Voloshyn, the 78th Separate Motor Rifle Regiment of the 58th Army of the Russian Federation is arriving in the area. It is coming to replace the 137th Air Assault Regiment of the 106th Air Assault Division.

"I would not rush to say that the enemy is leaving the spit. There are currently rotational activities of enemy units there, which are standing there and performing their tasks," the spokesperson emphasized.

### Debunking Rumors of Evacuation

Earlier, the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) reported on the possible withdrawal of Russian soldiers from the northern and western parts of the Kinburn Spit. Analysts cited data from the Atesh partisan movement, claiming that this occurred after Ukrainian forces cut off supply routes. However, the official position of the Ukrainian military refutes the version of the enemy's complete departure.

Vladyslav Voloshyn noted that Russian troops do not even intend to leave the position voluntarily. "Of course, it would be very good if they left there. But they do not even intend to leave. Therefore, efforts will have to be made to destroy them and drive them out of the Kinburn Spit," he stated.
