In the 11th round match of the Ukrainian Premier League 2026/27 season, Lviv's Karpaty secured a convincing 5-0 home victory over Kudrivka. The main hero of the match was forward Yan Kostenko, who scored a hat-trick and thus returned Fran Fernandez's team to winning ways. Prior to this fixture, the Lviv side had been on a four-match winless run in the league: after a successful start to the season, they drew with Veres, Epicentr, and Chornomorets, and also lost to Dynamo Kyiv, making a victory over the underdog crucial for the hosts. ### An Even First Half and a Goalless Scoreline at the Break The first half-hour of the meeting was tightly contested, creating few dangerous moments at either goal. In the 32nd minute, Yan Kostenko shot after a pass from Nazariy Rusyn, but the ball flew past the post. Only in the final minutes before halftime did Karpaty intensify their pressure: Ivan Calero shot dangerously from the right side of the penalty area, while Kudrivka goalkeeper Andriy Yashkov parried shots from Mohi and Cheber. The teams went into the break level at 0-0, despite the hosts dominating possession. ### Kostenko's Hat-Trick Within 23 Minutes of the Second Half After the interval, Karpaty quickly turned the tide of the match. In the 50th minute, Roman Vantukh received a pass from Rostyslav Lyakh and crossed into the penalty area, where Kostenko beat a defender and precisely shot into the bottom corner. Just three minutes later, in the 53rd minute, the Lviv side doubled their advantage: after Yashkov failed to hold onto the ball, Cheber collected it and delivered a cross to the far post, where Kostenko secured his double. In the 73rd minute, the hosts launched a counterattack that ended with Vantukh's cross, and Kostenko headed the ball into the net to complete his hat-trick. Thus, the forward scored three goals in three different ways—with his left foot, right foot, and head. ### Fourth and Fifth Goals: Chachua and Debutant Antoniuk In the 80th minute, Karpaty scored for the fourth time. Kostenko initiated a counter-attack and passed to Felipe, who continued the play, and after Yaroslav Karabin's cross, Amvrosiy Chachua tapped it in to make it 4-0. The final result was set by 19-летний debutant Volodymyr Antoniuk: having appeared on the pitch in the 84th minute, he scored just two minutes later—following a pass from Dmytro Miroshnychenko, the player beat a defender and shot into the far corner, bringing the score to a crushing 5-0. ### Standings Implications The victory over Kudrivka allowed Karpaty to break a streak of four winless matches in the championship. The Lviv team earned 19 points and climbed into the top five of the UPL standings. Meanwhile, Kudrivka remains at the bottom of the league table following this defeat. For Karpaty, this match served as an important psychological turning point: Kostenko's return to the squad coincided with the team's return to winning ways, and their clinical second-half display confirmed that at full strength, Lviv can dominate opponents. ## Fact-Check & Sources - [Хет-трик Костенко принес "Карпатам" победу над "Кудровкой"](https://sport.rbc.ua/ukr/football/het-trik-kostenka-prinis-karpatam-peremogu-1793645919.html) - Primary source: 5-0 scoreline, Kostenko's hat-trick (50', 53', 73'), goals by Chachua (80') and Antoniuk (86'), 19 points and top 5 for Karpaty, Kudrivka at the bottom, four-match winless run prior to the game. - [Хет-трик Костенко принес Карпатам победу над Кудровкой – львовяне прервали безвыигрышную ...](https://football24.ua/ru/news/het-trik-kostenko-prines-karpatam-pobedu-nad-kudrivkoj-lvovjane-prervali-bezvyigryshnuju-seriju-i-podnjalis-v-top-5-upl-974148) - Confirms the 5-0 score, 11th round of UPL 2026/27, four-match winless run, and first-half action (0-0, shots by Calero, Mohi, Cheber, saves by Yashkov). - [Костенко за тайм делает хет-трик, Карпаты повторяют рекорд сезона УПЛ](https://terrikon.com/posts/590109) - Confirms the 5-0 score, Kostenko's hat-trick, Chachua's goal for the fourth, and 19-year-old Antoniuk's goal to finish; additionally notes this is Kostenko's first career hat-trick and that he returned from suspension. ## FAQ ### What was the final score of the Karpaty vs Kudrivka match?
