# Kyiv Funicular Closed for Summer Repairs: Passengers to Seek Alternatives

The historic funicular connecting the Upper Town and Podil in Kyiv will be undergoing a technical break. Starting next week, passengers will be unable to use the funicular service as it closes for scheduled repairs lasting until nearly the end of summer.

This information was confirmed by the press service of the municipal enterprise "Kyivpavtrans," reports RBC-Ukraine. The operation of the funicular will be suspended to carry out a complex of works aimed at maintaining the proper technical condition of the infrastructure and rolling stock.

### Technical Details of the Repair

The municipal enterprise clarified that the annual repair is conducted strictly in accordance with the regulatory and technical documentation of the facility. As part of the scheduled activities, the funicular cars will undergo mandatory static and dynamic tests under increased load.

A feature of the upcoming repair is that the dismantling of the rolling stock will not be required. Due to the complex cable system and the significant weight of the cars, all work will be carried out directly at the stations and in the inter-station zone.

### Context of Repairs in Kyiv

The closure of the funicular fits into the general schedule of repair works in the capital. It was previously reported that the bridge on Beresteiskyi Avenue is also partially closed to pedestrians until autumn. In addition, "Kyivavtodor" has published a list of roads and bridges planned for repair this year.
