# Lando Norris celebrates his first victory of the season at the Hungarian Grand Prix: race results and new championship standings

A real sensation erupted in Budapest: McLaren driver Lando Norris secured his first victory of the current Formula 1 season. The Briton confidently held the lead throughout the entire distance, finishing first at the Hungarian Grand Prix.

### Brilliant race and solid lead

Norris started from pole position and demonstrated flawless tactics. Over the course of 70 laps, he did not allow his rivals to get close. By the end of the race, the Briton beat his closest pursuer — Max Verstappen from Red Bull — by a substantial 15 seconds. This was a triumph for Norris, who can now be proud of his first podium finish of the season.

### Fight for the podium: Antonelli and Ferrari success

Third place in the race was taken by Kimi Antonelli from Mercedes. The driver, who started seventh, put in an aggressive and successful race, managing to overtake several competitors and secure a spot on the podium. Fourth and fifth places were taken by Ferrari drivers: Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton, respectively.

### New championship standings

Despite Norris's victory, the lead in the Drivers' Championship was retained by Kimi Antonelli. He now has 219 points to his name. Lewis Hamilton holds second place with 169 points, while Antonelli's teammate, George Russell, rounds out the top three with 160 points.

In the Constructors' Championship, Mercedes continues to hold the lead with 379 points. Ferrari takes second place with 307 points, while McLaren, thanks to Norris's victory, has strengthened its position in third place with 220 points.

### What's next?

The next, 12th round of this season's Formula 1 World Championship will take place in almost a month — from August 21 to 23 in the Netherlands. Teams will have time to analyze their mistakes and prepare for the next battle on the track.
