# Launch of eustella: Austria unveils sovereign mobile AI agent platform

Vienna has officially unveiled eustella — a European sovereign platform for autonomous mobile agents, built on the foundation of the national AI Factory Austria. The project is positioned as a response to the growing demand within the EU for safe and controlled AI tools that operate without reliance on foreign cloud infrastructures.

### Technology stack and architectural flexibility

The eustella platform leverages cutting-edge open-weight models, ensuring high performance and adaptability. Its core includes text models Gemma 4 (Google), Qwen 3.5/3.7 (Alibaba Group), gpt-oss-120b (OpenAI), and tools from Mistral AI. For image generation, the Flux model by Black Forest Labs is utilized. Developers emphasize that the system will be regularly updated — new architectures will be integrated as they demonstrate superior results.

### Security and data sovereignty

A key advantage of eustella is its strict security architecture. Users retain full control over their data: the creation of consumer profiles, tracking, or the use of information for training third-party models is completely excluded. All servers are physically located within the European Union — in Berlin and Frankfurt — and are operated by the German provider IONOS CLOUD. Even the cloud operator has no access to the data: all information is stored in encrypted form.

### Availability and pricing

Following the completion of beta testing, eustella has launched its final tier of pricing plans. Users have access to a free account (Free Account) with basic limits, the volumes of which will be adjusted shortly. Additionally, three levels of paid subscription are available: the most affordable plan costs €5.99 per month and offers a request limit four times higher than the free version. Two additional premium tiers are designed for more intensive use of the platform.

Access to the service is available via mobile applications for iOS and Android, as well as through a web browser. The platform supports group chats and a search function, making it convenient for both personal and team tasks.

### Infrastructure and ecosystem

The eustella office is located in the AI:AT Coworking Hub in Vienna — a space functioning as a physical center for communication, knowledge exchange, and the implementation of technological projects. Based on this hub, a "one-stop-shop" model for AI development in Austria operates, integrating national initiatives with the pan-European network of AI Factories.

AI Factory Austria provides comprehensive support for startups and corporate spin-offs — from idea and prototype creation to scaling, data analytics, staff training, and market entry. The project is implemented within the framework of the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking and is managed by the Austrian Institute of Technology (AIT) and Advanced Computing Austria (ACA) with the participation of a broad consortium of leading scientific and research institutions in the country.

### Funding and support

eustella has received official co-financing from the European Union through the Horizon Europe program, as well as direct financial support from the Austrian government via investment institutions BMK and FFG. This confirms the strategic importance of the project for the development of the sovereign AI sector in Europe.
