The court has sentenced Dmytro Koziora, the former head of the Headquarters of the Anti-Terrorist Center under the SBU. The colonel and career intelligence officer was found guilty of high treason and sentenced to life imprisonment. This was announced by the Prosecutor General, Ruslan Kravchenko.

### Long-term cooperation with the enemy

The investigation established that the officer was recruited by Russian intelligence services back in March 2018 in Vienna. Koziora agreed to cooperate with the FSB in exchange for financial reward. For the sake of secrecy, he used intermediaries, however, he personally signed all ciphergrams containing secret data.

The most active phase of betrayal occurred after the start of the full-scale invasion. During 2024–2025, the officer systematically passed information to Moscow regarding the consequences of missile strikes on Kyiv, as well as data on the number of wounded military personnel and civilians.

### Leak of critical infrastructure secrets

Access to state secrets allowed Koziora to cause serious damage to the country's security. In particular, he leaked secret documents regarding critical infrastructure objects to his Russian handlers. Among the transmitted data were details on the operation of the gas transport system and plans to strengthen its air defense.

Furthermore, the traitor monitored SBU command posts and passed information on the locations of service units. In total, the investigation managed to document 14 episodes of the colonel's illegal activities.

### Personal involvement of the SBU head in the arrest

The operation to expose the traitor was carried out in February 2025. The then-head of the SBU, Vasyl Maliuk, personally participated in the arrest. He was part of the investigative and operational group that tracked down Koziora and personally reported the progress of the operation to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

During the investigation, Dmytro Koziora fully admitted his guilt and confirmed that he cooperated with the Russian FSB solely for financial reward. He is currently awaiting the execution of the sentence.

### Other high-profile treason cases

The case of Koziora is not isolated. Investigations into other high-profile cases of high treason continue in Ukraine. People's Deputy Alexander Dubinsky, suspected of high treason, has had a preventive measure of detention without the right to bail selected.

Also, the case of People's Deputy Yevhen Shevchenko has been sent to court. The politician is accused of high treason, collaborationist activities, and fraud on an especially large scale. He faces a life sentence.
