# Logistical Lockdown: How Ukraine is Cutting Off Russian Army Supply Lines at Operational Depth

Ukraine is shifting from targeted attacks to the systematic destruction of the enemy's rear areas. The Ministry of Defense, in collaboration with the General Staff, is launching a large-scale program called "Logistical Lockdown." Its goal is not just to inflict damage but to completely paralyze the Russian army's ability to conduct offensive operations by destroying supply chains.

Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov confirmed that the strategy is shifting towards scaling strikes at operational depth. The logic is simple: the more warehouses, equipment, and supply routes are destroyed in the rear, the fewer assault operations occur on the front line. Statistics confirm the effectiveness of this approach — if in October the cost of advancement for the enemy was 67 casualties per square kilometer, by spring this figure rose to 179 people.

### Investments in Middle Strike

Specific resources have been allocated to implement this strategy. In the first stage, 5 billion hryvnias are directed towards purchasing modern medium-range strike assets (middle strike). These assets are distributed through the "eBalys" system — units that have proven their effectiveness in strikes against the rear receive priority. Direct purchases have already begun.

The second stage involves centralized tenders. This approach aims to accelerate production, create competition among suppliers, and minimize corruption risks. It is expected that the results of centralized procurement will significantly increase pressure on the enemy by summer.

### Technological Advantage and Real Results

One of the key factors in success has been the use of unmanned systems. After restricting Russian operators' access to Starlink satellite communications, Ukraine's technological advantage on the battlefield increased. Defense forces are already striking at depths of up to 160 kilometers, covering critical routes such as Mariupol — Donetsk and Mariupol — Taganrog.

The results are visible to the naked eye. The "Nemesis" Brigade reported blocking the R-280 highway: due to dozens of destroyed trucks and fuel tankers, the Russian command is forced to restrict the movement of heavy equipment. The Institute for the Study of War (ISW) notes that the systematic destruction of logistics could become a decisive factor for future counteroffensives.
