## 🎯 Key Points

- Luka Modric has publicly expressed his desire to return to Real Madrid.
- The midfielder spent 13 years in Madrid, winning 27 major trophies.

Famed Croatian midfielder Luka Modric, currently playing for Italy's AC Milan, has spoken publicly for the first time since his 2025 summer transfer about a potential return to Real Madrid. Despite his current status as a player for the Italian giant, the 40-year-old openly calls Madrid his home and does not hide his intention to return to the club where he spent the best years of his career.

After moving to Milan in 2025, Modric quickly adapted to the demands of Serie A and became a key squad member. Nevertheless, his deep emotional connection to Real Madrid remains strong. In a recent interview, the midfielder emphasized that while he is fully focused on the success of his current team as a professional, his thoughts often return to the Santiago Bernabéu stadium.

### An Era Defined in Madrid

Luka's statistics at Real Madrid speak for themselves: 13 seasons, 597 appearances, and the status of one of the most decorated players in club history. With 27 trophies, including six Champions League titles, the Croatian became a living legend of the "Royal Club." In 2018, he was awarded the Ballon d'Or, cementing his place in the pantheon of modern football greats.

### Contradictory Information

There are discrepancies regarding the format of the player's potential return. While media outlets focus on his desire to return as an active player, expert sources suggest that after finishing his career at Milan, Modric could target an administrative or coaching role within the club's structure. The player himself refrains from providing specifics, referring to the return simply as a "dream."

For now, the situation remains open. Real Madrid's management has not officially commented on future cooperation with the veteran, but the fanbase actively supports the idea of the Croatian maestro returning. Time will tell if this dream becomes reality or remains a beautiful chapter in the history of the legendary midfielder.
