The 27-year-old goalkeeper will take his place in the goal due to the sudden illness of starting keeper Thibaut Courtois.

### Courtois' Illness and Lunin's First Chance of the Season

Real Madrid's main goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois dropped out of the team's lineup at the last moment due to acute flu. This will be the first official match in the current season across all tournaments that the Belgian goalkeeper will miss. Prior to this, he played in 12 consecutive matches, conceded 14 goals, and kept two clean sheets. In this regard, Andriy Lunin will get the opportunity to play in the goal for Madrid in the principled confrontation at the Camp Nou, marking his debut appearance in the current campaign.

### Emergency Call-Up of a Young Ukrainian to the Squad

The forced loss of the starting goalkeeper led to personnel reshuffles in the squad of Los Blancos and the call-up of another Ukrainian goalkeeper. Nineteen-year-old Ilya Voloshyn, who plays for Real Madrid's U-19 team, urgently took the Belgian's place in the official matchday squad. Such a step demonstrates the coaching staff's confidence in the Ukrainian goalkeeping school within the club's system amid force majeure circumstances.

### Tournament Context and Principled Confrontation

The principled showdown between Barcelona and Real Madrid will take place today, October 25, with the starting whistle sounding at 22:00 Kyiv time. Ahead of this meeting, the Catalans lead the Spanish Primera standings with 27 points after nine matches played. Jose Mourinho's charges occupy the third line, trailing the Blaugranas by six points with 21 points in total.

### Impact of Personnel Losses on the Match Outcome

The absence of Thibaut Courtois adds intrigue to the upcoming El Clasico, placing all responsibility for the reliability of the backline on Andriy Lunin. For the Ukrainian goalkeeper, this is an ideal opportunity to prove his worth in a top-level match and help the team reduce the gap from the league leader. Success or failure in this encounter could seriously affect the distribution of power at the top of the La Liga table at the equator of the autumn season.
