On the night of July 10, occupied Crimea once again became the target of a drone attack. This time, the strike hit one of the peninsula's key energy facilities — the Moynaki substation in Yevpatoria. According to the source "Crimean Wind," reported by RBC-Ukraine, the attack caused a large-scale fire and power outages in the city and surrounding areas.

### Strike on a strategic facility

The impact was recorded at 149 Internationalnaya Street. The 110/10 kV "Moynaki" substation is a critical node in the region's power grid, responsible for voltage reduction. Following the strike, a fierce fire broke out at the facility, which, according to eyewitness reports, was accompanied by thick black smoke and bright flames.

As a result of the attack, Yevpatoria and nearby settlements were left without electricity. The peninsula's energy infrastructure is under serious pressure: strikes on substations have become regular, leading to systemic failures in the power grid.

### Modernization costing one billion rubles

Particular attention is drawn to the fact that the "Moynaki" substation had recently been modernized. According to "Crimean Wind," a large-scale reconstruction of the facility was carried out in 2024 at a cost of 1 billion rubles. During the works, power transformers were replaced, and the total capacity of the substation was increased almost fourfold — to 126 MVA.

Thus, the attack caused damage not only to the current operation of the power system but also to the investments made in infrastructure development over the past year.

### Consequences for the population

The power outage led to disruptions in other utility services. The occupation enterprise "Voda Kryma" reported a partial loss of water supply across the peninsula due to an accident in the "Krymenergo" power grid. Without voltage supply, pumping stations cannot function, creating serious problems for residents.

### Response from Russian authorities

The Russian Ministry of Defense stated that on the night of July 10, 376 drones were shot down over Crimea, the Sea of Azov, other occupied territories of Ukraine, and Russian regions. However, these figures are not confirmed by independent sources and are often used to create an image of "effective air defense".

### Context: a series of strikes on Crimea

The attack on the "Moynaki" substation is not an isolated incident. On the night of July 8, Ukraine struck strategic Russian objects in Crimea: an energy bridge, a substation, a training ground, and a radar station. Additionally, drones from the SBU struck more than 9 tankers of Russia's "shadow fleet," triggering a partial blackout in the region.

Since the beginning of July, Ukrainian drones have already hit 37 energy facilities in Crimea and the Donbas. As a result of the strikes, the so-called "authorities" in Crimea acknowledged a total blackout, indicating the systemic nature of the attacks and their high effectiveness.

### Conclusions

The attack on the "Moynaki" substation demonstrates the vulnerability of Crimea's energy infrastructure and the impossibility of ensuring stable supply even after major investments. Regular strikes on energy facilities lead to prolonged outages affecting the lives of millions. In the context of the ongoing war and the lack of control over the situation by the occupation authorities, the population remains a hostage to chaotic and often false statements about "protection" and "stability".
