On the night of July 6, the capital of Ukraine experienced one of the heaviest attacks in recent times. A massive strike by Russian missiles and drones hit Kyiv, leaving behind destruction and human tragedies. An emotional response to these events came from Maria Kravets, the daughter of the famous TV host Elena Kravets. The girl shared shocking details of what happened in her neighborhood when explosions shook the city.

### Personal tragedy and fear

In her Instagram, Maria described the night as "absolute madness" and "very scary." According to her, the air raid alert lasted about five hours; all this time she could not sleep, remaining in a state of constant horror. The attack did not spare her loved ones either: the windows in her parents' house were blown out by the shockwave. The situation was exacerbated by the fact that a strike also occurred nearby, at the home of her friend.

"Our neighborhood is completely in smoke, explosions right overhead, causing the whole house to tremble," the girl wrote, trying to convey the atmosphere of chaos and hopelessness that reigned in the city. Despite the psychological pressure and destruction, Maria noted the most important thing: all her relatives and loved ones remained alive.

### Destruction in Kyiv and the region

Maria Kravets's words only confirm the scale of the disaster reported by official sources. The main vector of the strike was Kyiv, where the greatest destruction was recorded in the Podilskyi and Darnytskyi districts. In the Podilskyi district, a missile hit a nine-story residential building, destroying part of the entrance. In the Darnytskyi district, the strike hit a courtyard between buildings, where rescuers are still working to eliminate the consequences.

The situation is critical outside the capital as well. In the village of Vyshneve in the Kyiv region, mass evacuation of residents began after the strike due to the threat of re-detonation. There, dozens of houses were damaged, fires broke out, and the number of evacuees exceeded 500 people.

### Casualties and reasons for air defense failures

According to the latest data, 14 deaths are known in Kyiv and the region. Only in the capital, 11 people died, and another 46 were injured. Rescuers continue to clear the rubble, hoping to find people under the debris.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy commented on the effectiveness of the Ukrainian air defense during this attack. He stated that despite attempts to intercept drones and cruise missiles, the system failed to shoot down ballistic missiles. In the opinion of the head of state, this is due to insufficient supplies of interceptor missiles for Patriot systems.

The Russian Ministry of Defense stated that the target of the strike was allegedly military and energy facilities. However, the reality on the ground says the opposite: residential buildings in Kyiv were seriously damaged, and among the victims and injured were civilians. In her post, Maria Kravets called on everyone to hold on and expressed sympathy for the victims, emphasizing that the aggressor country continues to strike infrastructure and people.
