# Massive Attack: Russia Strikes Kyiv, Dnipro, and Vinnytsia with Ballistic Missiles

The night of July 30 became a time of new large-scale threat for Ukraine. The Russian Federation launched ballistic missile strikes on key cities of the country, including Kyiv, Dnipro, Kropyvnytskyi (formerly Kirovohrad), and the Vinnytsia region. Simultaneously, groups of attack drones were detected in the airspace, indicating an attempt at a coordinated strike on multiple fronts.

### Timeline of Events in Kyiv

Events in the capital unfolded rapidly. At 01:07, the military announced a threat of ballistic missile launches targeting Kyiv. Almost simultaneously with the alarm announcement, the first explosions were heard in the city. The Air Force Command (AFU) immediately urged residents to seek the nearest shelters and remain there until the threat was lifted.

According to the city administration, the aftermath of the strike affected several districts. In the Sviatoshyn district, a fire broke out in a non-residential area due to falling debris. A similar situation occurred in Obolon, where a fire also started in an area not intended for residential use.

### Strikes on Other Regions

The attack was not limited to the capital. At 01:10, the Ukrainian Air Force warned of missiles heading towards Dnipro. Just one minute later, information arrived about a missile heading towards Kropyvnytskyi. Shortly thereafter, a high-speed target originating from the Kharkiv region moving towards Dnipro was detected.

Parallel to the missile strikes, active work was underway to track drones. A group of drones moving from the Poltava region towards the Cherkasy and Kirovohrad regions was detected. Later, reports came in of another group of drones targeting Kremenchuk.

At 01:56, the threat shifted to the Vinnytsia region. The Air Force warned of missiles heading in that direction. Residents of Vinnytsia were urged to immediately head to shelters, after which explosions were heard in the city.

### Warnings and Context of the Attack

The possibility of such a large-scale strike had been discussed in advance. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Russia had been preparing a massive shelling for several days in a row. The head of state urged citizens to pay close attention to air raid sirens specifically on this night.

This is not the first wave of attacks in the last 24 hours. The previous night, on July 29, 229 attack drones were launched at Ukraine across various directions. Air defense forces then shot down or suppressed 65 targets in the north, south, and east of the country, although they recorded 14 drone hits across 10 locations.
