# Massive Attack on Kharkiv: KAB Strikes on the Kyivskyi District, Casualties and Destruction

On July 15, Kharkiv was subjected to an intense attack by the Russian Armed Forces. Throughout the day, the city was shelled by unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and aviation bombs. The main blow fell on the Kyivskyi district, where several hits on residential buildings and civilian facilities were recorded.

### Attack Timeline and Rising Number of Casualties

Events unfolded rapidly. Around 15:13, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine warned of launches of aviation bombs (KAB) towards the Kharkiv region. Just a few minutes later, at 15:21, the Mayor of Kharkiv, Ihor Terekhov, reported a direct hit by a KAB in the Kyivskyi district.

The situation on the ground intensified as data came in. Initially, authorities reported isolated casualties, but by 15:44, Mayor Terekhov cited a figure of nine people. Later, at 16:54, the Head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration (HRMA), Oleh Syniehubov, clarified the details of the victims' condition.

### Condition of the Injured and Medical Assistance

According to the latest data, people suffered shrapnel and blast injuries as a result of the explosions. Medics hospitalized a 49-year-old man in critical condition. Six other patients were taken to hospitals with moderate injuries. Among them were women aged 51, 31, and 60, as well as men aged 50, 44, and 57.

Subsequently, Syniehubov clarified that three victims were diagnosed with critical conditions, while four others sustained minor injuries. It was separately noted that a 51-year-old man, injured by glass, received assistance on the spot. Also on the list of injured was a 16-year-old teenager who was taken to doctors.

### Material Damage and Destruction

The KAB strikes caused significant damage to the district's infrastructure. According to HRMA data, a civilian administrative and production building and a hangar were damaged as a result of the attack. Additionally, seven vehicles were destroyed or damaged.

Earlier that same day, other incidents were recorded in the Kyivskyi district. First, a drone hit a building next to a residential house; there were no casualties. Then, a UAV flew into an apartment in a high-rise building, but there were no fires or injuries. Later, another drone struck a multi-apartment building again, leading to a fire.

Currently, rescue services and medics are working at the scene of the incidents. The number of casualties and the exact extent of the destruction continue to be clarified.
