# Massive Attack: Russia Strikes Ukraine with 136 Drones and Missiles

On the night of July 26, Ukraine faced one of the most massive attacks in recent times. Russian military forces employed a wide range of weaponry, from ballistic missiles to strike drones. According to the Ukrainian Air Force, the strike involved 136 drones, ballistic missiles, and an air-launched guided missile.

### Air Defense Operations and Attack Results

Ukraine's air defense systems operated effectively but failed to intercept all targets. As of 08:30 AM, the destruction or suppression of one Kh-59/69 air-launched guided missile, five ballistic missiles (Iskander-M or S-400 type), and 104 enemy drones was confirmed. Battles erupted in the north, south, and east of the country.

Despite the efforts of the air defense, the enemy managed to strike civilian objects. Impacts from two ballistic missiles and 27 strike drones were recorded at 18 different locations. Additionally, debris from shot-down equipment fell at seven locations, posing a threat to the population.

### Strikes on Kyiv

The attack on the capital drew particular attention. On the night of Sunday, July 26, Russian military forces struck Kyiv with ballistic missiles. As a result of the shelling, hits were recorded in three districts of the Ukrainian capital.

### Zelensky's Warning

The escalation of tension was expected. As early as the evening of July 24, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky warned of Russia's preparation for a new shelling. The head of state noted that the missiles were already ready for launch and the attack could occur within 48 hours. The forecast was confirmed the next day.
