Throughout the day, a large-scale incident occurred on Ukrainian territory, affecting critically important energy infrastructure. Russian armed forces launched a massive strike against enterprises of the Naftogaz of Ukraine Group. The attack covered several regions at once, posing a serious challenge to the country's energy security.

### Geography and Nature of the Attack

Acting head of Naftogaz of Ukraine, Serhiy Fedorenko, confirmed information about a series of shelling incidents. According to him, the strikes hit production facilities in the Kharkiv, Poltava, and Sumy regions. The enemy demonstrated a wide range of means of destruction, using unmanned aerial vehicles of various types, including jet kamikaze drones.

The attack was systematic, as evidenced by the duration of the shelling — it began in the morning and lasted almost the entire day. According to company leadership, the goal of the aggression is to damage gas production and create risks for preparations for the heating season.

### Consequences for Infrastructure

As a result of the massive strike, fires broke out at several facilities. Significant damage to production infrastructure has been recorded. At present, the operation of the attacked enterprises has been temporarily suspended. A full assessment of the damage is impossible due to the ongoing threat of repeated attacks, which prevents specialists from safely approaching the equipment.

Despite the scale of the destruction, no human casualties were reported. Serhiy Fedorenko noted that thanks to safety measures taken in advance and strict compliance with behavioral rules, the personnel took shelter in time and were not harmed.

### Company Strategy and New Tasks

Against the backdrop of the ongoing war, Naftogaz management is forced to adapt to new realities. The company's Supervisory Board appointed Serhiy Fedorenko as Acting Chairman of the Board of Directors. He replaced Serhiy Koretskyi in the position and took responsibility for managing the company until a new head is elected.

Key priorities in the current situation include:

- Operational restoration of damaged infrastructure.

- Forming necessary gas reserves to ensure supply for the country.

- Fulfilling agreements with international partners.

- Maintaining the work pace achieved over the past year.

Fedorenko emphasized that the company is aware of all challenges but is obliged to supply the country with fuel and continue preparations for winter, despite constant Russian attacks on the oil and gas sector.
