UFC 329 concluded in Las Vegas, an event that was supposed to mark the triumphant return of the legendary Irishman, Conor McGregor. However, instead of the anticipated spectacle, spectators witnessed a swift fiasco: the fight against Max Holloway lasted less than a minute. Immediately following the defeat, the former two-division champion made a bold statement demanding a review of the match's outcome.

### Injury and Technical Knockout

The "Notorious" return to the octagon after a long hiatus resulted in a serious injury. Early in the first round, McGregor suffered a dangerous low kick to the leg from the American. The referee was forced to stop the contest, awarding Holloway a victory by technical knockout. For the 37-year-old McGregor, this marked the second time in recent years he has been knocked out of a fight due to a leg injury — in July 2021, he broke his leg in a bout with Dustin Poirier.

### Demand to Void the Result

Some time after the fight, the Irishman published a statement on his Instagram. He noted that he expects the results of his medical examination tomorrow but has already issued an ultimatum to the organizers. According to McGregor, the fight must be officially declared a No Contest, and all bets on this bout must be refunded to players.

"A few notes. First: I will receive the results of the medical examination of my leg tomorrow. Second: the fight should be declared a No Contest, and all bets should be returned," the fighter wrote.

### History of the Rivalry

This was already the second meeting between these fighters. Their debut bout took place back in August 2013. At that time, Conor proved to be the stronger one, although he also did not escape injury in that fight — a torn ACL kept him out of action for a whole year. For the 34-year-old Max Holloway, this victory served as a way to rehabilitate himself after losing to Charles Oliveira in March of this year.

Currently, public attention is focused on how the UFC leadership will react to the demands of the promotion's star. Earlier, McGregor had already spoken about a possible retirement, and current events only fuel rumors about the Irishman's impending departure from the sport.
