# Microsoft Deleted Streamer Joshua Hane's Account and 25 Years of Data After a Hack

Streamer Joshua Hane encountered a serious problem that could affect any cloud service user. Microsoft deleted his account and the associated OneDrive account after it was hacked. This resulted in the loss of data accumulated over 25 years, including valuable family memories and game purchases.

### Loss of Data and Games

According to Joshua Hane, his account stored not only personal files but also childhood photos of his son. Additionally, he had spent thousands of euros on games linked to this account. Now, all this data and purchases are lost.

### Microsoft's Response

The streamer published a screenshot of an email from Microsoft, in which the company confirmed the account hack and the change of security information. The email stated that in accordance with security policy and the Services Agreement, Microsoft cannot change or reverse changes to security settings.

Microsoft permanently blocked the account to prevent further unauthorized use. The company noted that this was an inevitable decision. If the account was used for purchases in Minecraft, they cannot be recovered, and the game will have to be purchased again on a new account.

### Inability to Recover Data

Microsoft emphasized that any files stored in the OneDrive account are no longer accessible. Due to encryption and privacy protection, even the company's own engineers cannot recover data after the account is permanently closed.

### Criticism of Microsoft's Actions

Joshua Hane published several angry comments criticizing Microsoft's actions. He stated that he does not understand how one of the world's largest technology companies failed to recover his account and instead deleted it as if it were normal.

This case adds to a series of other incidents where users have faced problems with Microsoft account blocking and deletion. Recently, an Xbox owner won a lawsuit against the company after his account was blocked.
