# Microsoft vs OpenAI and Google: How the Corporation is Rewriting the Rules of the AI Game

The artificial intelligence market, which previously seemed to be an arena of mutually beneficial partnerships, is rapidly turning into a battlefield. At the center of this confrontation is Microsoft, which apparently decided to move from diplomacy to direct action. The corporation has launched an active campaign to promote its own developments, not shying away from criticizing the products of key players — OpenAI, Google, and Anthropic.

### Internal instructions: attacking competitors

Information about the strategy change became public thanks to Bloomberg, which cites materials from the company's internal strategic meeting. According to Techcrunch, Microsoft has given its sales department employees clear instructions: it is necessary not just to sell its products, but to actively discredit competitors' solutions.

At a meeting dedicated to planning the new financial year, the company's management announced a new course. Executive Vice President Jay Parikh clearly outlined the position: while competitors offer customers only individual components, Microsoft is ready to provide a full-fledged, integrated, and, in the corporation's opinion, more efficient system. The emphasis is on the availability and comprehensiveness of its own solution.

### Severing ties: from partners to rivals

This conflict looks particularly sharp against the backdrop of the history of cooperation between Microsoft and OpenAI. For a long time, OpenAI models served as the foundation for the products of the "red giant." However, economic expediency and the desire to achieve full independence forced Microsoft to reconsider its priorities.

Now the corporation is gradually replacing external models with its own developments in its flagship applications, including Word and Excel. This decision is dictated by the need to reduce costs, but it also signals a desire to control the entire value chain.

### Reasons for escalation: contract review

Relations between partners began to cool down as early as April, when the partnership agreement was reviewed. The new terms allowed OpenAI to sell its technologies to Microsoft's competitors. This step became a catalyst for changing the corporation's strategy: now it is forced to aggressively promote its independent ecosystem so as not to depend on the decisions of former allies.

Representatives of Microsoft and Anthropic have so far refused to give official comments on these reports. Nevertheless, what is happening indicates fundamental changes in the industry. The use of aggressive marketing methods against close partners indicates that the balance of power in the world of technology is shifting, and the era of soft cooperation is being replaced by an era of fierce competition.
