The era of Mohamed Salah at English club Liverpool has come to an end. The 34-year-old Egyptian winger, who has become a free agent, has decided on his next destination. According to Foot Mercato insider Santi Aoun, the forward has agreed on contract terms with Turkish giants Besiktas.

### Choosing Europe

After concluding his nine-year career at Anfield, the world football star found himself at the center of attention for numerous clubs. Salah received serious offers from wealthy teams in Saudi Arabia, and representatives of the American MLS league were also looking for ways to sign the Egyptian. However, the footballer decided to remain in European football and began negotiations specifically with the Istanbul club.

The deal looks extremely advantageous for Besiktas: since Salah's contract with Liverpool has expired, the Turkish club will get the player for free. The Istanbul club's management expects to finalize the transfer at the beginning of next week. After that, the striker is expected to travel to Turkey for a medical examination.

### Legendary Legacy

At the end of the 2025/26 season, Salah left the Merseyside club, for which he played since 2017. During this time, he became one of the best attacking players in the club's history. In total, the Egyptian scored 257 goals in 442 matches in all competitions, taking third place in Liverpool's all-time top scorers list, trailing only Ian Rush and Roger Hunt.

Together with the team, Salah won numerous prestigious trophies, including:

- The FA Cup and the Community Shield;

### Final Season in the Premier League

In his last season in England, the striker demonstrated high productivity, playing 41 matches. He recorded 12 goals and 10 assists to his name. At the moment, the portal Transfermarkt values the free agent's market price at 22 million euros.

This transfer will be a major event for Turkish football. Previously, Besiktas already showed ambition by poaching an Arsenal star for 20 million euros, and now the club is ready to strengthen its squad with one of the best players of the modern era.
