# The Myth of the 'Largest Attack': Yuriy Ignat Reveals the Real Statistics of Strikes on Kyiv Over the Past Month

On the night of July 19, the capital of Ukraine endured a powerful strike. Russian forces attacked Kyiv using 41 missiles and 125 attack drones. This event caused a wide resonance in the information space, where many sources and Telegram channels unanimously called this attack the largest in the entire history of the war.

However, official data from the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine introduces significant corrections to this picture. Yuriy Ignat, Head of the Communications Department of the Air Force Command, commented on the situation, refuting the thesis about the uniqueness of today's strike.

### Statistics vs. Emotions

In his Facebook post, Ignat confirmed that today's attack was indeed one of the largest involving ballistic missiles. However, he emphasized that calling it the single largest mass attack is erroneous. According to the general, it is enough to simply review the statistics of the last 35 days to see the true picture.

Over the past month, Kyiv has already withstood three massive attacks comparable in the number of ballistic missiles to today's. Thus, the strike on July 19 became the fourth in this series. Furthermore, these attacks included dozens of cruise missiles of various types and a huge number of unmanned aerial vehicles.

### Consequences of the Night Strike

Despite the fact that the Air Defense Forces of Ukraine managed to shoot down the majority of hostile targets, including almost all ballistic missiles, strikes on the city still occurred. The main direction of the attack was Kyiv. Damage to residential buildings and fires were recorded in several districts of the capital.

Tragedy did not spare human lives either. As a result of enemy shelling, one person died. There are also reports of 15 injured. Details of the destruction and exact addresses of damaged objects continue to be clarified, however, the fact remains a fact: the city continues to be under the threat of massive strikes.

Yuriy Ignat urged not to give in to emotions and to look at the dry figures, which show that the intensity of shelling in Kyiv has remained at a critically high level for more than one week.
