# Natalia Valeskaya on Pugacheva: "This is a choice of a person with a capital letter"

Ukrainian singer Natalia Valeskaya spoke openly about her former mentor — Russian pop legend Alla Pugacheva. In a recent interview, the artist explained why she respects the Prima Donna despite the complex political situation, comparing her life choice to the position of Ukrainians who remain in their country.

### Conscience and Dignity

Valeskaya emphasized that her respect for Pugacheva is based not on professional achievements, but on moral qualities. According to the singer, she is impressed by the Prima Donna's courage to make the decision to leave Russia and put an end to everything that had been created over the years.

"Not everyone has the courage. I didn't go into detail about how it happened, how the country was left, how a cross was put on everything that was before. For me, this is conscience and dignity," noted Natalia.

In Valeskaya's opinion, for many people, career and ratings become the meaning of life. However, judging by Pugacheva's actions, this was not her main priority. "It means that for Mrs. Alla — this is not the meaning of life. For her, the meaning of life is something else. But this is no longer a phenomenon. This is her choice," concluded the Ukrainian performer.

### Parallel with Ukrainians

Interestingly, Valeskaya drew a direct parallel between Pugacheva's decision and the choice of Ukrainians who remain in their country despite military actions and shelling. The singer called such people willful and people "with a capital letter".

"Just like our choice — not to leave Ukraine, to continue living even under shelling. For me, these are willful people. And these are people with a capital letter. We are not titans because we are vulnerable. We can flinch during some situation," she emphasized.

### Attitude towards criticism

Separately, Valeskaya touched upon the topic of possible hate from the public due to her sympathy for the Russian artist. She admitted that she is not afraid of negativity because she knows herself as a person.

"Being afraid of hate is the same as not accepting it at all. I have known myself for many years. I am a good person. When I mess up, I always say: 'I messed up, please forgive me'. If a person wants to see something bad in me, I cannot forbid it," explained the singer.

At the same time, Natalia emphasized that she does not ignore constructive criticism. She is ready to analyze remarks if they come from experts or a large number of people. "It doesn't mean that you shouldn't listen. I listen to people's opinions because there are experts who pointed out a flaw. If it's a large number of people, I wrote, sat down, and thought about it," summarized Valeskaya.
