# Nausėda warns of Russia preparing attacks on Baltic and Polish infrastructure

Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda, in an interview with the LRT channel, voiced alarming forecasts regarding regional security. According to him, Russian leader Vladimir Putin continues to seek to test the unity of the North Atlantic Alliance. To achieve this goal, Moscow, in the opinion of the Lithuanian leader, plans provocations against Poland and the Baltic states.

### Target — critical infrastructure

Nausėda clarified that Russia is preparing local operations aimed at critical infrastructure objects in the region. The President noted that various means could be used to implement these plans — from conventional to specific. At the same time, he emphasized that predicting the exact time and place of the strike is impossible.

"The other side may not have completed the planning process yet, and we may only know about the fact of preparation or the presumed target," explained the head of Lithuania. He described the expected actions as "targeted kinetic operations," which are highly likely to be aimed at vulnerable points in the economy and logistics.

### Strengthening protection and diplomatic demarche

In response to the threat, Lithuania has already taken measures to strengthen the protection of transport and energy infrastructure. The President's team is actively preparing for a wide range of possible attacks to minimize damage in the event that enemy plans are realized.

Alongside preparations for defense, the Baltic states have intensified diplomatic pressure. On July 13, the Chargés d'Affaires of the embassies of Latvia, Estonia, and Lithuania presented a joint demarche to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia. The occasion was Moscow's statements about allegedly providing Ukraine with airspace for launching drones. The Kremlin responded to these claims by refusing the need to prove anything.
