The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) has updated the official exchange rates for Wednesday, August 5. Compared to the previous banking day, the value of major world currencies has decreased. The US dollar and the euro have become cheaper, marking a noticeable correction after several days of growth, particularly for the European currency.

### Official Exchange Rates

The regulator set the official exchange rate for the US dollar at 44.74 hryvnias. This is 4 kopecks less than the day before. The decline in the dollar continues within the predicted market fluctuations.

The euro also showed a decline. The official rate on August 5 was 51.53 hryvnias, which is 11 kopecks lower than the previous day's figure. Thus, the European currency has moved into a correction phase following a period of growth.

### Credit History: A New Asset for Ukrainians

Against the backdrop of the gradual resumption of lending in the country, experts are emphasizing the importance of financial discipline. For Ukrainians, credit history is becoming increasingly significant, serving as a key factor in obtaining loans.

The press service of the Ukrainian Credit Bureau (UBKI) explained that a positive credit history works in a person's favor in the long term. It not only increases the chances of loan approval but also opens access to more favorable lending terms.

"In the modern world, reputation is real and very valuable capital," UBKI emphasized.

### How Financial Reputation is Formed

A credit report contains detailed data on loans received, their repayment, the presence of overdue payments, and other events related to the fulfillment of credit agreements. According to Ukrainian legislation, such information is stored for 10 years after the termination of the credit agreement.

It is important to understand that even the presence of a negative credit history does not mean a complete and irreversible denial of financial services. Although verified negative records cannot be deleted, responsible use of credit and timely repayment of debts gradually improve the borrower's financial reputation.
