Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has officially confirmed that the Israeli Defense Forces have ceased military operations against Iran. The statement came against the backdrop of the conclusion of a large-scale exchange of strikes between the two states, which began on the evening of June 7.

### Reason for the Ceasefire

According to the head of government, the decision to stop the fighting was not voluntary but was made due to a change in the tactical situation. Netanyahu emphasized that Tehran halted its attacks after Israel struck military and economic targets of the Iranian regime.

"At present, the fire in this direction has ceased because, after the strike on the terrorist regime in Tehran, it stopped attacking us," the politician stated, citing the effectiveness of the conducted operation.

### Threat of New Escalation

Despite the current calm, Netanyahu did not rule out the resumption of hostilities. He made it clear that Israel remains ready for an immediate and harsh response in the event of renewed aggression from Iran.

The head of government also addressed the situation in southern Lebanon. According to him, military operations against Hezbollah's infrastructure will continue. The main task remains the destruction of terrorist targets in the security zone, including large underground facilities on the Beaufort Ridge.

### "New Rules of the Game"

Netanyahu sharply criticized attempts by Iran and the Lebanese movement Hezbollah to change the balance of power in the region. He called the opponent's strategy unacceptable, which, in the prime minister's opinion, counted on Israel's passivity when striking from the territory of Lebanon and Iran.

"They thought they could strike Israel from Lebanon and Iran, and we would not act. That did not happen and will not happen. As long as I hold this post," Netanyahu stated, emphasizing his personal responsibility for the country's security.

### Relations with the USA

Special attention in his speech was paid to the dialogue with the US administration. He reported that he had conveyed his message to President Donald Trump, confirming Israel's right to self-defense.

"I am saying this to you, dear citizens of Israel, just as I say it in my good conversations with my friend President Trump," Netanyahu noted. Notably, earlier Israeli authorities effectively ignored Donald Trump's call to refrain from a retaliatory strike on Iran, deciding to act independently to protect their interests.
