As of June 15, new rules for signing military service contracts have come into effect in Ukraine. The Ministry of Defense announced the launch of three types of agreements with clear terms, fixed payments, and guarantees after the completion of service. This was reported by Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov in his Telegram channel.

The innovation concerns a wide range of individuals: civilians, mobilized personnel, active-duty servicemen, and those already serving under contract. The reform aims to structure the army and increase the motivation of the personnel through a transparent system of monetary allowances.

### Infantry-Assault Contract: For Those on the Frontline

This type of agreement is designed for servicemen performing combat tasks directly in the zone of active hostilities. This category includes infantrymen, shock troops, combat medics, gunners, mechanics-drivers, and other specialists working in close proximity to the front line.

Key conditions of the infantry-assault contract:

    - **Monetary Allowance:** The average payment level is 300,000 UAH per month. The maximum amount can reach 460,000 UAH depending on specific conditions and merits.

    - **Deferral:** After completing the contract term, the serviceman receives a guaranteed deferral from mobilization for a period of at least six months.

### Combat Contract: Increased Risk and Special Skills

This format is intended for specialists performing tasks with a high level of risk, but not necessarily located in infantry units. The payment system here depends directly on the complexity and danger of the work performed: the closer to the line of contact, the higher the monetary support.

The combat contract is available for:

    - Unmanned aerial vehicle pilots;

    - Operators of ground robotic complexes;

    - Electronic warfare specialists;

    - Artillerymen and other profiled military personnel.

The term of service under such an agreement is 24 months. Upon its completion, a deferral from mobilization for at least six months is also provided. The amount of payments varies in the range from 30,000 to 120,000 UAH per month.

### Basic Contract: Rear and Non-Combat Specialties

The third type of agreement is aimed at servicemen ensuring the functioning of the army in the rear. These are clerks, accountants, masters, cooks, and other specialists in non-combat specialties.

Features of the basic contract:

    - **Prospects:** The agreement provides for an increased basic payment and the possibility of moving to a combat position with increased monetary allowance in the future.

    - **Term and Payments:** The term of service is 24 months. The minimum payment is 30,000 UAH, the total range is from 30,000 to 70,000 UAH per month.

    - **Guarantees:** As in the previous cases, after the completion of the contract, a deferral from mobilization for 6 months is provided.

### Transition Period and Army Reform

Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov clarified that the transition to new conditions can be carried out in several ways. An important point is that already in July, all military personnel will be credited with new payments for June, regardless of whether they signed new contracts or not.

The introduction of new contracts is part of a large-scale reform of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The plan provides, in particular, for the dismissal from service of those defenders who have been fighting since the beginning of the Russian invasion. The process of sending such warriors to the reserve is planned to begin at the end of 2026.
