On Wednesday, July 22, Odesa came under attack once again. Russian occupiers launched a series of attacks using drones. Preliminary reports indicate casualties, as well as damage to civilian infrastructure and the residential sector.

### Incident details

Official sources confirmed the attack. Head of the Odesa City Military Administration, Serhiy Lysak, reported that the enemy attacked the city, striking infrastructure facilities. It is noted that one of the hits struck a residential building. "We are clarifying the details," Lysak specified.

Head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Kiper, added that Russian forces damaged civilian infrastructure objects. Specifically, one drone hit a two-story residential building, causing significant destruction. According to Kiper, preliminary data indicates there are casualties.

### Context of escalation

The attack on July 22 marked the third strike on the region in three days. On the day of July 21, Russian occupiers also attacked Odesa and the region. In the city center, civilian infrastructure objects, including residential buildings and institutions, were damaged. As a result of this strike, two people were injured — a 17-year-old boy and a 23-year-old girl.

Even earlier, on July 20, thick black smoke rose over the city after a hit on infrastructure facilities. Residents of several districts reported power outages. As a result of that shelling, three people were killed, and six others were injured. Gas pipeline equipment was also damaged.

### Consequences for the population

Successive strikes on Odesa pose a serious threat to the lives and safety of citizens. Damage to residential buildings and infrastructure objects leads to disruptions in electricity, water, and gas supplies. Authorities continue to clarify the details of the incidents and assess the scale of the destruction.
