The Ukrainian higher education system is preparing for a major transformation. The Ministry of Education and Science has approved new diploma formats and their supplements, aligning national standards fully with the requirements of the European Higher Education Area. This is not merely a change in document templates—it is a strategic step toward full integration into the European educational context.

Experts from the LIGA360 analytical group note that the reform will affect several key aspects of document formatting. Special attention is being paid to the transparency of tracking international students. From now on, documents must include the year of enrollment and the name of the institution where studies began. This measure aims to prevent manipulations with transfers between universities and ensure more reliable statistics.

It is important to understand that the transition to new standards will not be immediate. All Ukrainian universities will officially begin issuing diplomas in the updated formats only from September 1, 2026. This will allow time for adapting administrative systems and training staff.

Alongside the diploma reform, the country is actively preparing for the National Multidisciplinary Testing (NMT-2026). The main testing session has already started on May 20, and security measures at testing centers will be strengthened. For those who do not manage to take exams during the main period, an additional session with clear admission rules is provided.
