This was announced by the General Director of Ukrposhta JSC, Ihor Smelyanskyi, on his Facebook. According to him, the changes concern not only procedures but also the introduction of new fees that may affect the final cost of shipments. ### What is changing for senders Smelyanskyi emphasized that this is an important, though not joyful, news for Ukrainians sending parcels to EU countries. Due to tight implementation deadlines, the new rules will be rolled out in stages. This applies to both commercial shipments and some non-commercial parcels between individuals. ### How Ukrposhta will simplify the process The Ukrposhta team has already done significant work to adapt to the new requirements. Now, exporters will not have to perform complex additional actions: the company itself will calculate the necessary payments and transfer them to the customs authorities of the destination countries. The recipient in Italy or another EU country will no longer need to find where to pay customs duties and pay additional commissions. ### Technical details and interaction with government agencies Currently, the final technical details of the settlement mechanism with the Ministry of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture of Ukraine and the National Bank are being finalized. Smelyanskyi urged everyone to take the new rules into account, noting that "Ukrposhta will do everything else". ### Additional changes in Ukrposhta's operations Previously, the company had already changed the format of parcel delivery at branches, updated its logo, strengthening Ukrainian identity. Ukrposhta has also introduced important features for rural residents: the ability to save on utility bills and receive cash without having to travel to the district center to an ATM.
