# New Head of the Patrol Police of Ukraine: from the origins of the service to UAV command

On July 30, significant personnel changes took place in the National Police of Ukraine. Acting Head of the Agency Maksym Tsutsukridze personally presented the staff of the new Head of the Patrol Police Department. According to an official statement by the agency, this position was taken by Colonel Alexey Beloshitsky.

### Career of the new head

Alexey Beloshitsky is not a newcomer to the patrol service system. Before his appointment, he held the position of First Deputy Head of the Patrol Police Department. The agency's statement emphasizes that it was Beloshitsky who stood at the origins of the creation of this service and has been engaged in its development for many years.

### War and combat experience

With the start of the full-scale war against Russia, the colonel did not stay away from combat operations. Alexey Beloshitsky personally joined the formation of the "Predator" brigade, which operates under the Patrol Police Department, and performed combat tasks as part of it. Later, under his direct command, the brigade formed specialized units of attack unmanned aerial vehicles and aerial reconnaissance.

### Context of personnel changes

Beloshitsky's appointment comes against the backdrop of a large-scale reorganization of the law enforcement leadership. Reminders that on July 16, Ivan Vygovsky was dismissed from the position of Head of the National Police, and his First Deputy Maksym Tsutsukridze became the Acting Head, indicate an active phase of personnel change. Earlier, on June 26, the leadership of the Kyiv Patrol Police also changed: the post was taken by Major Yegor Golubov, who previously commanded a battalion in the frontline Kramatorsk and Sloviansk.
