Discussions about the possible introduction of a new wave of mobilization in the Russian Federation have once again intensified in the information space. Experts from Ukraine, analyzing the current situation on the front, are convinced that even taking such a radical step will not allow Moscow to turn the course of the conflict in its favor.

### Assessment of the situation by Andriy Kovalenko

Andriy Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation (CCD) under the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) of Ukraine, shared his opinion. This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing his statement in a Telegram channel.

According to the expert, he had predicted the probability of an autumn mobilization as early as spring of this year. Kovalenko believes that if the Kremlin really decides to take this step, its main goal will be only to partially compensate for the colossal losses of personnel.

"Even in the event of such a decision in the autumn, Russia will only be patching holes on the front, which will form as a result of heavy losses and recruiting fewer people than the losses," noted the head of the CCD.

### Economic and logistical problems

The head of the CCD emphasized that simply increasing the number of troops will not solve the systemic problems faced by the Russian command. In his opinion, the country will continue to lose critically important objects and resources under the impact of Ukrainian strikes.

Kovalenko pointed out that mobilization will not solve the problem of fuel shortage. Moreover, he warned against supporting the actions of Vladimir Putin, calling it "marasmus," and warned that for some supporters of the regime, this could result in the loss of the entire economy within 3–5 days.

"Also, in the event of such a decision, Russians will not have more fuel, the territory of Russia will be systematically broken down further," he added.

### Reduction in the flow of volunteers

Forecasts about the need to replenish the ranks of the army are confirmed by data from independent journalists. Earlier, the publication "Important Stories" reported that the flow of volunteers to the Russian army has noticeably decreased even in regions that traditionally led in the number of contract soldiers.

Due to an acute shortage of personnel, the Kremlin, according to sources, is discussing various options for solving the problem. One of them is a possible new wave of mobilization, which may be announced after the autumn elections to the State Duma.

### The only way out

Andriy Kovalenko believes that the only way to avoid further deterioration of the situation for Russia is to end the hostilities. The expert believes that the consequences for the Russian Federation will be far less catastrophic if the conflict is stopped now than if it continues until winter.

"Of course, it would be much better if the issue with Putin were resolved in the Russian Federation and the war ended. Then the consequences for the Russian Federation will not be as they will be in winter, in the event of the continuation of the war," concluded the head of the CCD.
