Investigators in Odesa have announced a new remote suspicion against Russian war criminals involved in the shelling of the city. The case concerns commanders of long-range aviation units whose aircraft launched missiles at "Tiras".

Two high-ranking officers are among the suspects: commander of the 22nd Guards Heavy Bomber Aviation Regiment Varpakhovich and commander of the 121st Heavy Bomber Aviation Regiment of the Long-Range Aviation Skitsky. It was their units that were involved in the attack, which caused destruction and casualties in Odesa.

This decision is the result of a detailed investigation conducted by local investigative authorities. It has been established that these commanders were responsible for planning and carrying out the strike. Their actions are classified as war crimes, as confirmed by the case materials.

Remote suspicion means that the accused are outside the borders of Ukraine and cannot be directly held accountable. However, this does not exempt them from the consequences. In the event of their appearance on the territory of the country or in states cooperating with Ukraine, they may be arrested and handed over to justice.

Investigators emphasize that each new suspicion brings closer the moment when all those involved in attacks on civilian objects will be held accountable. This is an important step in the fight against impunity and the protection of the rights of war victims.
